Software for mouse and aquatic core facilities

ConductColony keeps a core facility's housing, animals and protocols in one place, with a daily census and monthly statements for each lab, husbandry tasks and health cases.

Facility features come with the Institution plan, priced for each facility.

The Today screen of a sample core facility: animals by species, cage and tank counts, water checks for three aquatic systems, a tank over density, protocols to watch and animals by room.

Roles for staff, vets and PIs

Facility managers, technicians and vets see every lab.

A PI's Today, housing, animals, protocols and statements show only their own labs.

Today as a PI sees it: only the Egg Extract Lab, with its 11 tanks and 48 frogs, its open health case and its per diem this month.

Today

Today shows animals by species, water checks, today's work and open health cases.

It also lists frogs ready for egg-laying and the per diem charged so far this month.

The Today screen on a phone: animal counts by species, cages and tanks, and the water check for each aquatic system.

Rooms, racks and tanks

Housing shows each room's racks as a grid of cage positions, and each aquatic system's tanks.

Moving a cage or tank to another lab moves its animals with it.

Mouse Holding 1 in Housing: 148 cages on 3 racks, with Rack C shown as a grid of cage positions and a Print cards link.

Census and per diem billing

Each morning the census counts every billable cage and tank, room by room.

The facility manager builds each lab's monthly statement from the census and exports it as CSV.

September statements for seven sample labs, each with its billing account, status Final and total, and an Export CSV button.

Daily work and health cases

Recurring tasks fill a daily board by room, with overdue work at the top.

Staff report sick animals with a photo, and the vet adds assessments and closes the case.

The task board for one day: an overdue cage change at the top, then each room's room check, water checks and cage-wash temperature, with who finished each task and when.

Aquatics and Xenopus

Each aquatic system shows its tanks and its water quality against target ranges.

Frog records track injections, egg quality, rest and surgeries.

X. laevis System A: a grid of tanks, each with its lab, species, frog count and stocking, and tank A-04 marked over density.

Monthly reports

The monthly report covers census and per diem by lab, protocol use, mortality, water excursions, task completion and health cases.

Each section downloads as a CSV file, and the page prints.

The September report: cage-days, tank-days and per diem for each lab, with a Download CSV link and a Print button.

Phone app and scanning

ConductColony runs in the phone's browser, so staff record tasks, checks and sick-animal reports at the rack.

Scanning a cage card or tank label opens its record.

Cage C-1131 opened on a phone from a scan, overdue for a change, with Scan next and Mark changed.
