Yes. The free plan is free forever with no credit card required. It includes up to 3 users, 50 cages, QR cage cards, basic breeding logging, IACUC protocol tracking, and CSV import. No trial period, no strings attached.

Because research teams turn over constantly. Students rotate, postdocs move on, visiting fellows arrive for a semester, and animal technicians change shifts. Seat-based pricing punishes you for all of it — you either pay for every person or share logins, which breaks your audit trail. Cage count reflects the actual size of the work, so every paid plan gives you unlimited seats and prices strictly on active colony size.

Absolutely. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your Settings page. When you upgrade, your new features are available immediately. When you downgrade, you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Your data is never deleted when you downgrade. Breeding records, genotypes, and pedigrees remain in your account — they just become read-only on the Free plan. If you are over the cage limit of the plan you move to, existing cages stay visible and exportable; you simply cannot create new ones until you are back under the limit. Upgrade again anytime to regain full access.

Yes. Yearly billing is the default on the pricing page, and sales can send a formal quote for purchase-order approval. Starter is $350/year, Lab Pro is $950/year, and Lab Max is $1,900/year.

Yes. Academic and non-profit research groups use the standard rate card. Commercial, biotech, and CRO customers use a separate card that starts at $950/year and includes automated regulatory audit logs and compliance reporting as standard. Use the toggle above the plans to compare the two.

ConductColony includes a CSV import wizard that maps your spreadsheet columns to our fields. Most labs import their entire colony in under 5 minutes. We also offer free migration assistance — email support@conductscience.com.

Yes. All data is encrypted with 256-bit encryption at rest and in transit. We run on Vercel and Neon PostgreSQL with nightly encrypted backups. You can export all your data as CSV at any time.

ConductColony is optimized for mice and rats but works for any rodent species. Support for zebrafish, Drosophila, and other model organisms is on our roadmap.
