Audit-ready colony records without the enterprise price tag

Pharma and biotech companies need rigorous documentation for every animal in their colony. Regulatory inspections require a clear audit trail, role-based access controls, and reliable data integrity. ConductColony delivers all of this at a fraction of what traditional enterprise LIMS charge — with a modern interface your team will actually use.

Enterprise-grade, startup-priced

Features that matter when inspectors walk through the door.

Audit

Complete audit trail

Every action in ConductColony is logged: who changed what, when, and from which state to which state. The activity log is immutable and exportable. When an inspector asks 'who modified this record?', you have the answer in seconds.

Role-based access control

Assign team members as admins, managers, or members with different permission levels. Control who can create, edit, or delete records. Ensure separation of duties for critical colony operations.

Security

Encrypted data at rest and in transit

All data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest in Neon PostgreSQL and TLS 1.3 in transit. The database runs on SOC 2-compliant infrastructure with nightly encrypted backups and 30-day retention.

Multi-site institutional pricing

For organizations managing colonies across multiple facilities, our Institution plan offers unlimited users, unlimited cages, and custom pricing. Contact us for volume agreements that work with your procurement process.

Compliance alignment

ConductColony is designed to support the documentation practices required in regulated research environments. While ConductColony is not itself a certified GLP system, its features are built to facilitate compliance with common regulatory frameworks.

IACUC reporting support

Protocol tracking with automatic expiry alerts, census reports per protocol and strain, and animal-level status records that support the documentation requirements of IACUC annual reviews and semi-annual inspections.

GLP documentation practices

Immutable activity logs, user-attributed records, and timestamped changes support the record-keeping requirements of Good Laboratory Practice standards. Every record has a clear chain of who created and modified it.

USDA annual reporting

Accurate animal counts by species, strain, and protocol facilitate the preparation of USDA annual reports. Census data can be exported to CSV for integration with institutional reporting systems.

Questions from pharma & biotech teams

ConductColony is not currently 21 CFR Part 11 validated, but its architecture supports many of the technical requirements: unique user identification, audit trails, electronic timestamps, and access controls. If Part 11 compliance is required for your use case, contact us to discuss your needs.

ConductColony runs on Vercel (frontend) and Neon PostgreSQL (database), both of which maintain SOC 2 compliance. We can provide infrastructure compliance documentation upon request.

ConductColony is designed for research colony management and typically does not process protected health information (PHI). If your use case involves PHI, contact us to discuss requirements.

Institution plans are custom-quoted based on number of facilities, users, and support requirements. Contact sales@conductscience.com for a proposal.
