Watch how easy it is to manage your research colony.
Import your colony
Upload your existing Excel or CSV file. ConductColony's smart import wizard analyzes your column headers and sample data, then maps them to the right fields automatically. It recognizes common variations — "M/F" or "Male/Female" for sex, various date formats, genotype shorthand like "WT" or "HET", and strain aliases like "B6" for C57BL/6J. Review the mapping, click import, and your entire colony is in the system in minutes. If anything looks wrong, the one-click undo removes all imported records cleanly.
Track breeding & genotypes
Create breeding pairs by selecting a sire and dam from your colony. Set the pairing date, and ConductColony calculates expected litter dates based on your strain's gestation period. When litters arrive, record pup counts, sex ratios, and birth dates. As pups are weaned and genotyped, enter results with batch genotype entry — assign alleles to multiple animals at once. The 3-generation pedigree tree renders instantly, showing parents, grandparents, siblings, and genotypes at every node.
Generate IACUC reports
Every animal in ConductColony is linked to an IACUC protocol. The dashboard shows your current animal census by protocol, species, and strain — no manual counting required. Protocol expiry alerts notify you 30 and 60 days before renewal deadlines. When your IACUC requests a census for semi-annual review, the data is already there: total animals, pain categories, approved limits versus actual counts, and protocol status. What used to take a day of spreadsheet work now takes seconds.
